Many novelists used the word “jam” and I give you here some funny citations. From Francoise Sagan: “Culture is like jam: the less we have the more we spread it.“ With a correction from an anonymous:”Culture is like jam: the more we taste, the more we eat again.“ From Alexandre Vialatte: ” Jam is only good if you need to climb on a chair to get the jar inside the cupboard.” From Abu Shakour: “Among ten sorts of jams and ten sorts of soups, it is allowed to be gourmet of one only.“ From Alphonse Allais: “Some women are like a stick covered with rose jam: you don’t know how to take them.” From Stanislaw Jerzi Lec:”With dreams, it is also possible to make jams. You only need to add fruits and sugar.” A Turkish saying:”There are talks which look like salty jams.“ And for finishing, from one of the greatest French novelist, Gustave Flaubert:”The truth is not made to comfort like a slice of bread with jam you give to crying kids. You have to look it for, no more and put aside from you what is not it.“
